After what has seemed to be the most difficult year, many can agree that 2020 has allowed people to feel more grateful to be alive and appreciative of good health. Even more so, we would like to gather our gratitude and pass it onto others. Now more than ever is an appropriate time to give back to our communities and to others who are in need of essential items.
With that being said, All Heart Homecare Agency is hosting a Clothing and Toy Drive to give to those in need! We’re giving away clothes and toys, both old and new, and donating to those who are in tight financial situations and can not afford such goods on their own.
Where are we Donating to?
All Heart Homecare is partnering with Chesed Center to donate clothes, toys and any items to those who are in need.
The Chesed Center is an organization that helps many families in both New York and Israel. They send toys, clothing, shoes and other house-ware items to struggling families.
What can you donate?
Donations can be Used or New. However, all used clothes must be clean and in good condition.
Accepted Donations include:
- Men’s Clothing
- Women’s Clothing
- Children Clothing
- Purses
- Wallets
- Shoes
- Accessories
- Linens (towels, sheets, etc.)
- Household Items
- Toys
Where are the drop off locations?
All Heart Homecare is accepting donations in both of their offices. We have a donation box in our reception area within the Brooklyn office, 1664 East 14 St, 2nd Floor, as well as our Manhattan office, 260 West 35th St. We will be collecting donations till the end of January.
Why should you donate?
As the year comes to an end, many are ready to clean out their closets as a way to also “declutter” their lives. Perhaps, you have a lot of clothes in which you no longer need, or you are looking for a change in your personal life. While doing that, reconsider throwing away your items as there are so many people who do not have what they need.
It’s Better for the Environment
Donating clothes is one of the best ways to better the environment. This is because disposing items like clothing requires a lot for a landfill to dispose off and releases toxic gases into the air. In addition to this, making new clothes takes up many resources such as gallons of water which further harms the environment. By donating clothing, less resources are wasted.
Help People in Need
“One man’s trash is another man’s treasure.”
Yes, we have heard this cliché time and time again, yet it holds much truth. Though you may be tired of your clothes or items at home, there is someone out there who is underprivileged and in need to these essentials due to either a disaster that occurs or if they are simply in a tight financial situation. By donating, you’re giving others a chance in which seemed out of reach to them before.
It Feels Good To Donate
Let’s be honest, it feels good to let go. Not only is it a good dead, but it will also positively affect someone else’s life. Your home will not only be decluttered but fill someone else’s home with goods in which were unavailable to them before.
Do you have any clothing or toys that you are hoping to give away?
Come to either our Brooklyn or Manhattan office and drop off your items by the end of this month to give back to others!
